Holidays - For underprivileged children

Experienced educators, the religious of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul know well that the summer months can be fatal to children, who find themselves idle in the poor neighborhoods of the big cities. They fall prey to traffickers and criminals. We know how easy it is to follow a bad example!

And without even going that far, a healthy busy rest time in a family atmosphere (which is often sorely lacking at home) allows the child and adolescent to approach the start of the new school year in better conditions.

At the Bobo Dioulasso holiday camp

Thus, several holiday stays or summer camps are offered:

  • In France : in Auvergne (opposite), in the region of Saint-Etienne or in the Alps.
  • In Brazil : camps are organized for the young people of the Educandario.
  • In Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast : the “holiday camps” of Bobo-Dioulasso, Koubri de Dédougou or Bouaké each welcome several hundred children each day (these camps function as an outdoor centre).

Modest families participate, according to their means, but it would be impossible for us to offer educational and relaxing activities and entertainment, or even simply to organize these holidays (transport, accommodation, food, entertainment) without your precious support and all the volunteer animators who supervise these young people.
